International Fashion Week Dubai Day Three

International Fashion Week Dubai Day Three

And here it is. The last day of our amazing experience at International Days of Week of Fashion were Dubai meets International everything else. As you can see, it may be a confused but nonetheless, an amazing experience.

What happened during the last day of the show? Well, a lot. People still didn’t know that they shouldn’t cross the catwalk and the host was still delightfully furious about that. The place was still packed with princesses, Asian celebrities and even Michael Adam from FashionTV – a pet peeve of our amazing host who described FashionTV as, and I kid you not, the best television in the world. The validity of this statement is for you to decide. Anyways – anyways. On to the show!

The last episode of this exhilarating experience was the shortest one. For example, we got to see more wedding dresses dubbed as “haute couture”. In translation – high sewing. The dresses are created strictly for the body of the model, handmade, without a price, because the art is the price itself, yadda yadda yadda. Honestly, can’t really tell the difference, but maybe the difference is in myself then. There were few exceptions, of course, like that one time when we saw a black couture dress and one green. So yeah. Most of the guest found it exciting, and I can’t blame them, they looked crazy, but I found it to be a little much really. Cause girl, if the dress is good, it’s good, babe you don’t need to do this “conceptual art” kind of rationalizing and adding this “story of my life” tag on in it just to make it better. Sometimes, you know, a dress is a dress. But I digress.

The two other shows were more or less similar in taste and action. Stripes are the thing right know from what I’ve observed, but there wasn’t really anything that made me feel like a special little princess that I aspire to be. The funniest thing though, was the models “presentation” or whatever you would call it. The idea of dressing all of them in the same dress and asking them to walk down the catwalk while trying to be “the best woman in a particular dress” was hilarious as a concept itself. Just imagine, what was the quote behind that idea – “hey, what if we would make people compete against each other and be judged publicly on their entire superficial self? Great idea Tim, here’s some evil juice.” For some people, high-school never ended.

There were many fun aspects as well. Always enjoy browsing through Farys Design Jewelry catalogue. Few of the polish designers got awards and it always warms hearts, when someone who grew up in roughly similar territory is being appreciated. It’s like if you were appreciated, but not and it doesn’t mean anything.

Overall, I can definitely recommend International Fashion Week Dubai for not only fashion but entertainment seekers. All the stiches that we saw made it that much more enjoyable. Some fashion weeks are so stiff and so formal, that you feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. The roughness of the atmosphere in Dubai makes it that much more exciting and interesting. So – come and stay for a while. It will definitely NOT be something you can expect.

Couldn’t end it without thanking Farys Design Jewelry. We’ll see each other in the next season. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN – bye
