EXPO 2020 Dubai – polish pavilion makes an impression!

EXPO 2020 was something to look out for. UAE created even a special metro station to allow everyone to enjoy EXPO 2020 comfortably and safely. It was definitely something that the whole world was waiting for. The main theme – Connecting minds – set to bring together cultures and create a dialogue between people from different countries, ethnicities and backgrounds. It is said, that EXPO 2020 was going to bring up to 7 billion dollars in profit to UAE and Dubai.

Unfortunately, “thanks” to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to wait another year to enjoy this amazing place. And let mi tell you – it does not disappoint.

The whole concept is based around country specific pavilions spread all over 438 ha, where each nation can present themselves and invite guests to their “country”. Some did it better, some worse. Some places, for example, decided that it’s a great opportunity to offload some of the precious materials from their country. Some treated it as an opportunity for their mobile restaurant to sell you overpriced sandwiches and awful coffee. Nevertheless, there were many impressive ones with whole structures build specifically to impress international crowd. It was truly breathtaking.

But then came Poland.

…and to be honest (and I’m a Pole for that matter) it really wasn’t bad. To be even more honest, it was quite pleasant. I don’t know if you know, but we Poles really do like to complain about, well, everything, but mostly about ourselves. So with that in my blood, I was really biased towards it being below the average. To my surprise – it was really well done! The whole structure was a block, but within that, there were spinning triangles that looked like birds or some kind of papers on the wind. It was really pretty, I must say. Inside, you could find exhibitions about polish history, flora, fauna and many scientific discoveries made by polish inventors. You can also learn about interesting polish brands, from computer gaming to jewelry and beyond! If you’re near, far or wherever you are – you should definitely consider visiting polish pavilion at Dubai EXPO 2020. If not for anything else – you can try pierogi there. And that’s more than enough.

During EXPO 2020 be sure to also check out Polish-Arabian Economic Forum on December 6th 2021. The main target of the forum will be to promote economical connections of both parties and presenting polish experience and potential to the partners form Persian Gulf. Our beloved Farys Desing will be present during business panels and during meet-ups to expose international crowd to its unique products! See you there? See you there!
